GENERAL INSTALLATION NOTES
KPT X is a collection of plug-in applications (sold separately) that require Adobe
Photoshop?or any 100% Adobe Photoshop-compatible host application. These KPT X filters
must be installed into the same folder in which your host looks for plug-ins. Refer to
your host application's user guide to determine into which folder KPT X filters
must be installed.
When using MetaCreations Painter(tm) 5.5, create and install into a folder called
"plug-ins" within the Painter 5.5 folder. Page 37 of the Painter 5.5 User Guide
provides additional details under the heading "Other Raster Plug-ins". When
installation is complete, access a KPT X filter from within the host application.

Windows Installation Tips:
Ensure that your operating system is Win95/98/NT4 (a KPT X plug-in application will
not run on Win 3.x or NT 3.x.x), and that your display is set to a minimum of 24-bit
color (true color). Also ensure that you are using a Pentium processor or "Pentium class"
processor (a KPT X plug-in application will NOT run on a 486), that you have no open
applications, and that there are NO applications running in the background (this
includes anti-virus software, crash monitoring software, and system diagnostic software).
Macintosh Installation Tips:
Ensure that your MAC OS is 7.6.1 or later, and your display is set to a minimum
of 24-bit (millions of colors). Also ensure that you have no open applications, and
that there are NO applications running in the background (this includes anti-virus
